About Us

Carbon Neutral Initiative was founded by Robert van der Luijt and Peter-Paul Laarhuis to combat climate change. The emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases are still far too high to become Carbon Neutral by 2050 and to limit the consequences of climate change.

The scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) indicate that reducing emissions will not get the world carbon neutral. We will need to remove huge amounts of CO2 from the air as well. Unfortunately, there are only a few ways to get CO2 out of the air. Herein lies a huge challenge!

The mineral olivine has the capacity to remove CO2 in a natural way. Moreover, there is enough olivine to remove CO2 from the air on a large scale.

In the Netherlands, we work together with consumers, companies and municipalities. Abroad with businesses and the local population. In this way we offer this group a sustainable alternative to provide for their livelihood. By joining forces, we are convinced to achieve our target of "removing 1 gigaton of CO2 from the air by 2030".
